We are thrilled to have you join us Strides for Action! Below is a general outline of the day to help you plan your experience.

EVENT SCHEDULE

8:00 AM – Registration Opens
Check in, grab coffee, make signs, and connect with our community.

9:00 AM – Speaking Program Begins
Hear from advocates and leaders who are fighting for LGBTQIA+ health.

9:30 AM – Warm-Up with Reimagym
Get moving with an energizing warm-up before the walk/run begins.

~9:45 AM – Run Kicks Off
Runners hit the course first for our 5K loop along the Charles River.

~9:50 AM – Walk Kicks Off
Walkers follow right behind for the same scenic 5K route.

~10:15 AM – Post-Walk Celebration Begins
Join us back at the park for snacks, games, community tables, and a live performance by The Femmes.

~11:30 AM – Event Concludes
Thanks for showing up and stepping up —now let’s keep the mission of Strides alive year round!

Event Tips:
- Dress comfortably and check the weather forecast to prepare for the day. Strides for Action will happen rain or shine!
- Bring water, sunscreen, and any personal items you may need.
- Parking will be available, but we encourage the use of public transportation and/or carpooling to reduce traffic and parking concerns.
DIRECTIONS:
Driving Directions to Artesani/Christian A Herter Park Parking Lot
Address: 1255 Soldiers Field Road, Brighton, MA 02135
From the Massachusetts Turnpike (I-90) Eastbound:
- Take Exit 18 for Allston/Brighton.
- Stay right at the ramp split toward Allston.
- At the intersection (DoubleTree Suites Hotel will be on your right), turn left onto the access road for Storrow Drive/Soldiers Field Road Westbound.
- Stay in the middle lane as the road curves past Harvard’s Athletic Fields.
- The parking lot will be approximately 500 yards on your right.
From Downtown Boston (via Storrow Drive):
- Take Storrow Drive Westbound (which becomes Soldiers Field Road).
- Follow Soldiers Field Road past Harvard University.
- The parking lot entrance is on your right after the athletic fields.
From Cambridge (via US Route 2):
- Cross the Eliot Bridge over the Charles River.
- Follow signs for Newton and Points West via Soldiers Field Road.
- The park entrance will be about 500 yards on your right.
Public Transportation:
- Bus: MBTA routes 70 and 86 have stops nearby.
- Subway: The closest stop is Harvard Square on the Red Line, ~20 minutes walking distance.
Parking: Free parking is available in the lot shared by Artesani and Herter Parks. Please plan to arrive early, as the lot can fill quickly.
